Guardian's documentation lives here. This page is the short version.

Two apps, one pair

Guardian is two applications rather than one. The parent app, Guardian, goes on your own phone. The child app, Guardian Kid, goes on your child's device. The two are joined once, using a code shown in the parent app, and everything you do afterwards happens from the parent app.
